High Court of Kerala
In Kochi, located in the Indian state of Kerala, is the High Court of Kerala, the highest court in the state. Including Chief Justice, it has 27 permanent judges, in addition to 20 extra judges.
The High Court of Kerala was born on November 1, 1956, and the current Chief Justice is Justice Antony Dominic, who began work in the High Court of Kerala on January 30, 2007 as extra Judge.
Establishment of High Court of Kerala
The High Court of Kerala was born on November 1, 1956, as part of the States Reorganization Act, with which the state of Travancore-Cochin integrated with the districts of Malabar and Kasaragod, to form what is now known as the state of Kerala.
At the time of its creation, Justice K. T. Koshi appointed as the first Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court.

There are different types of judge’s distribution, depending on the type of case, importance and nature to adjudicated. From lesser to greater importance, they are:
- Single: A single judge in charge
- Division: The case taken by 2 judges
- Full: Three judges appointed
- Larger: above 3 judges, in cases of great importance

High Court of Kerala: Chief Justice
The current Chief Justice of Kerala is The Hon’ble Chief Justice Antony Dominic, who has been in the office since February 2018. He entered the High Court of Kerala in 1986 and appointed to different positions throughout his life, being the last two Additional Judge in 2007 and Permanent Judge in 2008.
Dominic graduated from SDM Law College with a degree in law. Kerala Administrative Tribunal (KAT) tracks the applications from filling receipts stage to disposal stage.
