Telangana Rice Distribution Scheme

The Telangana State Government has launched the Telangana Rice Distribution Scheme on 01st Jan of 2015 which provides one-kilo rice for 01 rupees for each household member.

Also, the state is supplying the fine rice (Sanna Biyyam) to hostels and schools to the benefited students around 56 lakhs with Rs. 120 cores per year outlay

Beneficiaries of Telangana Rice Distribution

As per survey on 27th Dec of 2014 about 88.57 lakhs households benefitted for the scheme and also the people who have pink cards (Replaced with white cards for BPL families) and also AAY (Antyodata Anna Yojana) cards eligible for the scheme. For each household, 06 kg’s of rice distributed and around 2.67 cores of members identified as the beneficiaries for the scheme

As per Telangana Consumer Affairs, Food and Civil supplies department the beneficiary list is increased due to the different factors like annual salary cap increase in areas of rural and urban, no. of household’s increases over the year, so no other cards other than pink card

Telangana Departments Minister inaugurations of Rice Distribution Scheme

  • In Telangana State 31 districts among few districts the Telangana Departments Ministers have inaugurated the Rice Distribution Scheme as follows:
  • And Telangana State Irrigation Minister Sri T Harish Rao has launched the Rice Distribution Scheme in Medak district
  • Then The Telangana State Energy Minister Sri Cherkola Lakshma Reddy has launched the Rice Distribution Scheme in Mahabubnagar district
  • Telangana State Roads and Buildings Department Minister Sri T Nageshwar Rao has launched the Rice Distribution Scheme in Khammam district
  • And also Telangana State Agricultural Minister Sri Pocharam Srinivas Reddy has launched the Rice Distribution Scheme in Nizamabad district

Budget of Rice Distribution

  1. Accordingly, Per month around 1.8 lakhs MT of rice required for the distribution
  2. 1597 spent on the contribution
  3. In order to reach the eligibility the BPL (Below Poverty Line) families, the income of the family is about Rs. 1.5 lakhs in rural areas and Rs 02 lakhs in urban areas.
  4. Finally, The ceiling of land has increased to 7.5 acres of dry land and 3.5 acres of wet land
