Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) – नवीन एवं नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा मंत्रालय
MNRE or the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy is a crucial Ministry that comes under the Government of India (GOI). It handles the matters related to renewable energy. This particular Ministry has a board. This board aims to develop new as well as renewable energy for supplying country’s enough energy requirements in India.
Energy security has been a viable concern in this country. So, the renewable energy has great importance in recent days. The major of new as well as renewable energy is the efficient energy in our country. Two oil shocks from the 1970s are evidence of this. The oil price had increased all of a sudden. Apart from that, oil supply came with various uncertainties. Payments position’s balance also faced multiple inopportune impacts. That is why the Government of India (भारत सरकार) decided to establish a new Commission in March 1981. This department came under the Department of Science & Technology. The primary aim of this Commission is additional sources of energy.
