The State Government of Karnataka is a democratic body in India. The constitutional head of the govt of Karnataka is the governor of the state who holds his office for five years. He appoints the chief minister of the Karnataka State, and they together nominate the council of ministers. Though the governor of Karnataka is the state’s ceremonial head, the chief minister runs the day-to-day errands of the state in collaboration with his chosen council of ministers. Among the 23 metropolia, cities and urban agglomerates in India, Bangalore, the capital city of Karnataka, is the fifth most significant urban agglomeration. The ranges are Eastern Range at Davanagere, Central Range at Bangalore, Northern Range at Gulbarga, Western Range at Mangalore and Southern Range at Mysore. Administrative and political reorganization

Karnataka took its current shape in the year 1956 after Coorg and Mysore merged along with the earlier states of Hyderabad, Madras, and Bombay. The state of Mysore consisted of 10 districts, namely, Hassan, Bangalore, Tumkur, Chitradurga, Shimoga, Kolar, Mandya, Chikmagalur and Mysore. Bellary became a part of Mysore in the year 1953 with the formation of the new state of Andhra Pradesh.
