The PMKVY (Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana) is a flagship scheme inaugurated by MSDE (Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship) in India. The main objective of this scheme is to provide employment to the Youth by providing Industry relevant training programmes in India. The scheme approved for another 4 years (2016 to 2020) to provide the employment services to 10+ million youth with the allocated budget of 12,000 crores by Indian Cabinet. It is a Skill Development programs of Indian Government for recognition of Standardisation of Skills. For 2016-2020, the scheme targeted 1 crore of Youth to register in PMKVY Registration. As of July 18, 2016, in the scheme has 17.93 candidates were trained out of 18 lakh candidates on PMKVY courses.
The Aim of the scheme is to provide the employment skills to increase the work efficiency of daily wage earners, by giving the monetary rewards and awards and by providing the quality of training to candidates. The avg. Reward amount has kept as Rs. 8,000/-. The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana training programmes worked on the basis of NOS (National Occupational Standards) and the qualification packs developed in many sectors of skills. The quality of plans & qualification plans has developed by the SSC (Sector Skill Councils). The NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation) has made a co-ordinating & driving agency for same.
